At Texas Children’s Hospital, our team will be there from the start, caring for life as it begins. In collaboration with St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, our antepartum, labor, delivery and mother-baby unit nurses are providing compassionate care from fetal intervention and high-risk deliveries to our family-centered model of maternity care, all while delivering the best possible outcomes.
The efforts we put forth have turned our high-risk newborn program into one of the most successful in the country. No other local or regional health care institution offers the same breadth and depth of medical and surgical sub-specialty services, education or research for mothers and infants. We’re excited to continue our leadership in this area when The Pavilion for Women at Texas Children’s Hospital opens in early 2012.
In addition to the excitement behind the Pavilion, we have multiple openings in our cardiovascular intensive care and pediatric intensive care units. Our Pediatric CVICU nurses offer care for the post-operative cardiac patient with common diagnoses such as congenital heart disease, congenital heart anomalies, acquired heart disease and transplants. On the PICU side, our nurses provide immediate care for critically ill medical and surgical patients as well as those who suffer from diagnoses such as diabetes, seizure disorders, transplants and organ failure. Both of our care units practice constant observation and high-acuity nursing care, requiring specialized equipment.
